Snow report

Friday, 4th July 2008

Summary: School holidays and heaps of snow!

We have been having some good snow showers over the last day or so and with our 203 snow guns working overtime the mountain is looking pretty good. I had a good ski over much of Coronet Peak today and it was really good skiing.

Ski Weeks are upon us and the Lodge will be full over the holidays with ski weekers , hut parents, and families. Next Saturday night there is plenty of room and if you would really like to  come up for that weekend we may be able to arrange beds at Vincent Ski Club. Please let me know.

See you all soon.
Pete

Kind regards,
Pete

Summary: Coronet closed after just a few days - but not for long hopefully!

Coronet Peak has been closed since last weekend after some unbelievably wet, then unbelievably warm weather. Coupled with an inversion where it is feezing in the Wakatipu Basin but 3 or 4 deg at the Lodge and you really have a problem. 203 state of the art snow guns and we can't make snow! BUT there is cold weather on the way and next week looks like being a lot colder at least. I am still in residence but if you wish to come up to Joel Lodge please call first.

Think Snow!!

Cheers,
Pete
